Johan has once again been awarded Denmark's prestigious Reumert Award Singer of the Year for his role as King Saul in Carl Nielsen' Saul & David at the Royal Danish Opera. This is his 2nd win & 4th nomination. He has previous won from his performance in Kasper Holten's production of Die Frau ohne Schatten.

Johan has been nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Artist for his role debut as Wotan in Die Walküre at the Canadian Opera Company. Die Walküre is the front-runner in the Opera Division with a total of 9 nominations.
